Our school organized a ‘K2 parent Talk’ this year for the parents to know better on the K2 curriculum. We started off by having a small discussion with the parents on what are their concerns for their child’s learning and to prepare them for Primary One.
Next, the K2 English Teacher, Miss Teo gave a talk on the K2 English Curriculum. Through this talk, parents will have a better understanding on what their child will be learning in Kinder 2 and what the school is focusing on for the English curriculum. It also enables the parents to know how they can support their child at home to reinforce what they had learnt in the school. After the English curriculum, the K2 Chinese teacher, Lin Lao Shi gave a talk on the Chinese curriculum for the K2 that focuses on the four main skills: Listening skill, Speaking skill, Reading skill and Writing skill. It was also a good opportunity to clarify the doubts that they have from the teachers.
Last but not least, we had a talk by Ms Irene from Montfort Junior School that shared about how to support the children when they go to Primary One and the things that parents should take note of especially the current changes in the MOE. It was an enriching session for the parents and we were glad to invite them as well as Ms Irene to for this evening.
