On Saturday 27 July, Good Shepherd Convent Kindergarten held its Sports Day at the school compound and thankfully, we were blessed with a fine weather. This year, we are very fortunate to have our parents to be our emcee for the event and we are thankful to them, Mr Kevin Lester Sarjit and Mr Edward Liardet who help hype up the atmosphere. The children in their sports attire made their entrance into the school in high spirits accompanied by their parents who watched the event at the side. After the Principal’s Speech, everyone rises to sing the National Anthem followed by the opening song, ‘Each and Every Day.’
The excitement began. Each class took turn to showcase their dance movement and completing their obstacles course skilfully. The most exciting race was the Shuttle Run by the K2 children. They required to pass the baton to another person correctly to enhance the time taken and the glory of reaching the finishing line. The children were energetic and performed spectacularly well. They cheered for their peers with their loud rousing voices.
The event ended with the children singing, ‘Scissors, paper stone’ and two mass dances, ‘Move It, Move It and Waka, Waka’ led by Parents Support Group. The parents had a good work out and the children had great fun with their parents. Thank you to all family members who came to watch and cheer the children on that made the day really special!
